He had been wanted for two and a half months.
On Tuesday, an 18-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody by the gendarmerie of Saint-Renan, northwest of Brest.
Investigators suspect him of having organized an ambush on September 25 in this small town in Finistère by lighting a trash fire.
When the police arrived, the respondent allegedly attacked the gendarmes called for the fire by shooting at them.
According to the public prosecutor Camille Miansoni, the suspect would have fired a mortar causing injuries to the officials.
Two and three days of ITT were allocated to the three gendarmes affected.
Their vehicle was also damaged.
Already known to the police and gendarmerie, the respondent has several criminal records.
He should be judged this Friday in immediate appearance.
Pending the hearing, the young adult was placed in pre-trial detention.
He faces a maximum sentence of ten years in prison and a fine of 150,000 euros, specifies the prosecutor.
