After legal wobbling of courts of various instances, either to recognize the symbols of the 14th SS Volunteer Infantry Division "Galicia" (14-te Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS) as Nazi and, therefore, not allowed in democratic (self-name) Ukraine, or not to recognize — The Supreme Court of Ukraine put an end to it.

From now on, symbols are allowed to be used.

The Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, which beatified the 14th SS division, turned out to be (from the point of view of Ukrainian justice) right.

Those—not necessarily staunch anti-Nazis, perhaps simply who felt that this was not the right time—who opposed the official glorification of those who served in the SS, turned out to be wrong.

The court ruled: "No one will take away the path we have traveled."

Including the path traveled by the Galicia division, which path included not only military operations on the territory of the then Ukrainian SSR and not only acts of genocide on the territory of the then Ukrainian SSR, but also the suppression of the Warsaw and Slovak uprisings, as well as the fight against Yugoslav partisans.

Perhaps the opponents of the beatification of the Galician heroes also proceeded from the consideration that the bloody trail they left not only on the territory of the USSR (this is possible, this is a fight against Bolshevism and Russian imperialism), but also on the territory of Central and Eastern Europe, does not fit well with talk about European way.

After all, these conversations imply something very bright and blessed.

Of course, from the point of view of the Institute of National Remembrance, the extermination of Muscovites, Jews and Poles (well, and other Slavs who came to hand) is the most gracious and worthy deed.

But for external use, this is not always suitable, since it can put the Western feeders of Ukraine in an insufficiently dexterous position.

Of course, they will cope with this task, but why multiply the difficulties unnecessarily?

At the same time, if we take the point of view of Ukrainian monuments, a point of view full of cunning casuistry, then Nazism has nothing to do with this case at all.

Indeed, there is no swastika on the emblem of the 14th SS division, the mustachioed face of the Fuhrer is also absent.

And there is only an image of a yellow lion and three yellow crowns on a black field.

Where is Nazism?

This is just an innocent heraldic symbolism of the Galician city of Lemberg - a double Lemberg lion.

In principle, anything can be justified by heraldry.

After all, the swastika is just an ancient Indian symbol of fertility.

Or are you against fertility?

But the incident is also notable for the good timing for the beatification of the 14th SS division.

It seems to be with heavy military devastation, large losses in manpower, etc.

There are more pressing concerns as well.

However, as they believe in Ukraine, every time is favorable for a good deed.

Indeed, simultaneously with the justification of the heroes of "Galicia", monumental counter-propaganda continued.

Dnipro Mayor B.A.

Filatov (famous for the formula "And we'll hang them later") announced the demolition of monuments to Pushkin, Lomonosov and Gorky.

For a de-energized city, the task is the most urgent.

Let us also remember Odessa, where the authorities are preparing to demolish the monuments of Catherine the Great and the commander Suvorov.

Here one can object that even in the harsh days of the war one must think about the future.

The Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater was opened in 1945, although there were more urgent construction concerns during the war.

During the war, seven stations of the third stage of the Moscow metro were built.

And at the end of the summer of 1944, when the exit of the Red Army to the Baltic was already a foregone conclusion, great afforestation work was carried out in East Prussia.

"Get ready to die, but this life."

But there is a difference.

That the metro stations Novokuznetskaya and Paveletskaya, that East Prussian forest plantations are a creative reserve for the future.

Whereas the demolition of monuments in the last agony - what is creative here?

As well as in the exaltation of the SS from the 14th division.

Rather, this is the motto of Nero: "While I live, let the earth burn with fire."

Even in the Third Reich, there were sometimes creative potencies.

About ukroreyh it is impossible to say.
