Each year, 111,000 tonnes of toys are put up for sale… and 100,000 tonnes of toys are thrown away in France!

However, according to Ademe, half of the discarded games would be technically reusable but only 4% of them are actually reused.

Buying second-hand saves the planet

In addition, 90% of the toys sold are imported.

To reduce their environmental impact, there are also sustainable solutions such as second-hand sales: buying second-hand saves up to 200 kg of CO² per year and per person!

These heartbreaking figures inspired Morgane Longo, co-founder of the Lib & Lou rental system: “When I became a mother, I noticed that my children did not play their games for very long.

So I looked for a simple system that takes the hassle out of reselling.

This is how the idea of creating a toy rental system was born”.

OUR "TOYS" FILE

“It also allows us to be in an ecological approach.

Because beyond the very limited use of a game – in France, the lifespan of a toy is between 6 and 8 months – we are now working with suppliers on eco-design, a desire to make the games as durable as possible,” explains Morgane Longo.
