The white-collar workers of foreign companies are addicted to online gambling and have a lot of debts. They "borrow money" everywhere to solve their difficulties, and eventually become prisoners.

The reporter learned from Shanghai Jing'an police on December 5 that recently, the police received a report from a foreign trade company in the jurisdiction, saying that Qian, a former employee of the company, had repeatedly used "project turnover" and "venture investment" in the past two years. The person in charge of the company and several colleagues borrowed a total of more than 600,000 yuan, and they have lost contact.

According to police investigation, as early as 2015, Qian had lost all his savings due to gambling.

In the next few years, Qian also tried to "make money" through gambling, and continued to borrow funds in the form of bank loans to continue investing in the "gambling pool". In the end, he got deeper and deeper and became heavily in debt. After his parents sold the property to repay part of the debt, Qian himself used the bank's "credit loan" and various online loans to make up for it. Part of the money he borrowed was used to repay debts, and part was used for gambling.

Since becoming addicted to online gambling, Qian has lost more than 10 million yuan.

At the end of 2020, with the tightening of bank loan business, the "capital chain" of gambling money that Qian relied on to maintain was completely broken.

Qian Mou successively borrowed more than 680,000 yuan from the company boss and colleagues on the grounds of "project turnover" and "startup capital turnover", and then resigned to "avoid debt".

Shanghai Jing'an police stated that the suspect "borrowed money" in various names under the premise of knowing that he was incapable of repayment, and the long-term loan has constituted fraud. At present, the police have taken criminal coercive measures according to law.

At the same time, the police will carry out further investigations on the overseas gambling platform involved in this case.
