A dog accused of driving a truck and causing a traffic accident

Police in Texas (United States) said they arrested a "reckless driver" who later turned out to be a dog after two vehicles collided in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

The owner of one of the damaged vehicles said he saw "the suspect moving towards him", but was unable to avoid a collision and when he went to check the other vehicle he was "shocked" to see a dog in the driver's seat.

Kilgore police confirmed that the dog was behind the wheel at the time of the accident, and the

police guessed, according to “The Hill” website, that the dog was sitting in the empty truck waiting for the owners inside the store, and that he moved after he felt “numbness of his legs” and began to change his position inside the cockpit.

According to police, the vehicle's steering column was damaged, which apparently allowed the dog to accidentally move the truck.

It is also believed that the collar the dog was wearing caught on the emergency brake and released it.

Kilgore Police Department said: "It does not seem possible, but an eyewitness saw the dog behind the wheel just before the accident."

and that the dog "definitely has a guilty look on his face".

Police said no one was injured in the accident.

The news did not mention the cost of the damage caused by the strange accident.
