The album Lila/Liila was created in the summer of 2021 in a house on Fårö, together with the Finnish musician Tapio Viitasaari.

Anna Järvinen describes how the swallows outside were "completely crazy" by Tapio's piano playing.

- So my novel just lay there and Tapio started twisting some texts, and it grew from there.

It's wonderful to revive the world of the book, albeit in a musical context, says Anna Järvinen.

- I think they are about frustration and a desperate desire to take advantage of living, really, this very common undertone of sadness and loss.

But now it has been packaged in dance music.

Reflecting on his cultural heritage

Anna Järvinen was born in Helsinki and moved to Stockholm with her mother when she was six years old.

In the songs on the albums, just like in her book, she reflects on her cultural heritage.

Something that she does daily, also in her creation.

- I was so small when I moved to this country with a completely different language and everything.

It was such a transformative experience for me, so I can't really let it go.

Music has perhaps become the most intuitive way to portray that kind of reflection.
