Princes William and Harry may have been cold for several years, but they managed to put their differences aside for a good cause.

That of one of their mutual friends, Henry van Straubenzee, or rather of the fund created in his memory.

The two royal brothers signed a joint letter in which they express their admiration for the parents of their friend, who died in 2002 in a car accident at the age of 18.

Harry and William are both sponsors of the foundation created in his name to help education in Africa.

“We think everyone here tonight will agree that what Claire and Alex have accomplished since 2009 with the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund is nothing short of extraordinary.

As you gather under this roof tonight, the charity supports 51 preschools, primary and secondary schools in rural Uganda, where 1,700 projects have been carried out and more than 35,000 children benefit from a yearly education that they would not have been able to receive otherwise”, can we read in the letter, relayed by the

, written on the occasion of a concert of Christmas carols organized to raise funds.

Pride and sadness

The message from the princes also indicates that the foundation will gradually stop, in the face of the decision of the parents of their friend, whom they nicknamed “Henners”, to move away from their charitable efforts.

“It is with a mixture of great pride and sadness that we share with you tonight Claire and Alex's plan to embark on a gradual liquidation of the association.

Henry's legacy will live on through the incredible accomplishments of his mother and father over the years.

For those of us who knew Henners, we will always miss his mischievous charm and hilarious sense of humor.

But all those present tonight, his family and his many friends, can come together and remember him twenty years after his death by being here in St Luke's Church to celebrate his life and his legacy at this time. Christmas,” the message concludes.

This sign of unity between the princes may be the last for a while.

The content of the six-part documentary on Meghan and Harry, produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in person, should not necessarily strengthen family ties.
