"Measure the beautiful world with 'little steel legs'" is an introduction written by 36-year-old Wei Jinmei on her Douyin account.

"Small steel leg" refers to the prosthetic leg she wears on her right leg.

December 3rd is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Before 2015, this festival did not belong to Wei Jinmei.

In 2014, she was diagnosed with bone cancer, and the hospital provided her with three treatment options.

"I was worried that the cancer cells would metastasize, so I chose the cruelest but safest solution - amputation." Wei Jinmei said calmly.

In the summer of 2015, Wei Jinmei lost her right leg.

After she woke up from the hospital bed, she didn't shed tears, nor did she show huge mood swings. She just read the novel quietly, but the doctor mistook her for depression.

"I am very calm because I was mentally prepared to lose a leg before the operation. This is a decision I made myself. I will not regret it. I will only consider how to do the next thing well. .” Wei Jinmei said.

Three months after the amputation operation, Wei Jinmei began to adjust to her prosthesis.

"During the rehabilitation training, the root of the upper leg will rub against the prosthesis, then peel off and heal, and after a month or two of this, I will get used to it." Wei Jinmei said that the amputation did not change her life drastically. She has a kind of Confidence, even if you lose a leg, you will not be worse than others.

In the days when she was wearing a prosthetic limb to relax, Wei Jinmei and her friends drove to Tibet, and once "gazing at all the small mountains" on the top of Huashan Mountain.

She remembers that when she was traveling in Shuanglonggou in Rongshui Miao Autonomous County of Liuzhou City, the gate guard suggested that she take the shortcut when she saw that her legs and feet were inconvenient.

"The gatekeeper said that it took five minutes to reach the glass plank road, but I wanted to take the longer and steeper road. When I arrived, my legs were weak." Wei Jinmei explained that she likes challenges.

After completing the "run-in" with life and returning to work, Wei Jinmei chose to start a business.

"Entrepreneurship means challenge and freedom to me," she said.

In 2019, she signed up for a training class to learn about live delivery, editing videos, writing copywriting, etc., and then looked for supply channels to become a delivery anchor.

During the live broadcast, Wei Jinmei will chat with the audience about her experience.

"They will be curious about how our group lives, and I am willing to share." Wei Jinmei said that in her live broadcast room, the audience interacted with her very frequently, and the popularity of the live broadcast room also increased.

However, putting herself in the spotlight has also earned her some unkind comments.

"Some people say that I am consuming the identity of 'disabled', and some people question it, thinking that I am not like a disabled person. I have experienced illness and amputation, and these comments are nothing to me. I have come into contact with many disabled people. , They have skills, and there are laughter and sunshine in their lives, which are different from what everyone imagined." Wei Jinmei said.

When Wei Jinmei appeared in the live broadcast room with light makeup, long skirts and boots, she looked beautiful and calm, just as she repeated several times: "I am no different from a normal person."

"Circle", find like-minded friends, broaden the boundaries of life.

Today, Wei Jinmei has a live broadcast team consisting of 6 people, half of which are disabled.
