Elon Musk announces the date for the start of experiments on sight restoration chips

Billionaire Elon Musk revealed that the wireless "brain chip" developed by his company, Neuralink, could begin clinical trials in humans within 6 months, according to the London newspaper, Metro.

Musk said the company is developing brain chip interfaces that could allow the disabled to move and communicate again, as well as restore vision.

In a long-awaited public statement about the new device, Musk said, "We want to be very careful and sure that the device is going to work well before we put it in a human."

In front of a crowd of invitees selected to attend the presentation that was held at the headquarters of the "Neuralink" company, which lasted for nearly 3 hours, Musk confirmed the speed with which the company is developing its devices.

He added, "The progress at the beginning, especially with regard to humans, may have been painfully slow, but we are doing all things to make the theoretical and practical development go in parallel, but in theory the progress is amazing."

Musk concluded, saying that the device produced by "Neuralink" aims first to restore vision and enhance muscle movement in people who are unable to do so, adding, "Even if a person does not have a sense of sight at all, such as being born blind, we believe that we can still restore vision to him." .
