In 2022, French cities are not popular with expatriates.

This is one of the lessons of the ranking established by the InterNations site and carried out among 11,970 expatriates from 177 different countries.

No town in France is in the top 10 cities where it is good to live in 2022, GEO note which relays this list.

Valencia at the top of the standings

In order to classify the cities of 181 different countries, InterNations has grouped together 56 criteria such as professional opportunities, personal finances, quality of life or even ease of installation.

Result: Valencia (Spain) comes out on top thanks to an excellent quality of life according to expatriates, but despite a job market deemed difficult for 50% of them.

Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Mexico City (Mexico) complete the podium.

Betting behind

The rest of the top 10 consists of Lisbon (Portugal), Madrid (Spain), Bangkok (Thailand), Basel (Switzerland), Melbourne (Australia), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and Singapore.

At the end of the ranking, we find European cities such as Rome, Milan, Hamburg, Paris, Frankfurt but also Tokyo or Johannesburg.

The French capital occupies the 48th position due to administrative procedures perceived as complex, a high overall cost of living and a feeling of insecurity.
