According to information from RMC, the government would have seized the Committee for monitoring and anticipating health risks (Covars) to decide on the question.
This body replaced this summer the Scientific Council created to deal with Covid-19.
A return of the mask in public transport and establishments open to the public could be considered.

“Reflections are underway”, would have recognized Matignon according to comments reported by RMC.
The authorities would therefore await the recommendations of Covars before taking a position.
If the return of the mask is recommended, the government will then have the choice between decrees or to pass a new law in Parliament.
