Scandal at Buckingham.

Lady Susan Hussey, godmother to Prince William, made racist remarks at a reception hosted by Queen Consort Camilla on Tuesday (November 29).

Buckingham Palace immediately reacted with a press release announcing the withdrawal of Lady Susan Hussey, who was very close to Elizabeth II.

King Charles III is certainly facing his biggest crisis since his accession to the throne last September.

Lady Susan Hussey, godmother to Prince William, made racist remarks during a reception hosted by Queen Consort Camilla at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, November 29.

Lady Susan Hussey asked a black guest which country 'she was really from'

The event, devoted to the fight against violence against women and attended by Rania from Jordan, Mary from Denmark and even Sophie from Wessex, was marred by an incident: the founder of an association, a black woman, been the victim of racist remarks by Lady Susan Hussey, 83.

According to the BBC, Prince William's godmother repeatedly asked which country she "really came from".

Mixed feelings about yesterday's visit to Buckingham Palace.

10 mins after arriving, a member of staff, Lady SH, approached me, moved my hair to see my name badge.

The conversation below took place.

The rest of the event is a blur.

William's godmother was also very close to Elizabeth II

Buckingham Palace immediately reacted with a statement denouncing "unacceptable and deeply regrettable comments".

"We take this incident very seriously and have immediately investigated to establish all the details. The person concerned wishes to express his deepest apologies for the harm caused and has stepped down from his honorary role with immediate effect", can we read in the statement announcing the resignation of Lady Susan Hussey.

Prince William's godmother, little known to the general public, was one of Elizabeth II's closest ladies-in-waiting.

She notably supported the monarch at the time of the death of Prince Philip.

Lady Susan Hussey arrived at Buckingham Palace in 1960 to help Elizabeth II with the birth of her son Prince Andrew, we can read in the columns of

Gala

.

She then got closer to Prince Charles, and thus quite naturally became the godmother of her first child, Prince William.

She was married to Marmaduke Hussey, who died in 2006. The latter was the chairman of the BBC when Diana gave her explosive interview with Martin Bashir in 1995.
