On the afternoon of the 1st, it was confirmed that an F35 stealth fighter stopped with its nose on the road surface at the Kadena Air Base in Okinawa.

The US Marine Corps explained that ``the nose wheel of the aircraft that made a preventive landing failed during towing.''

According to the 1st Marine Air Wing of the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa, around 1:40 pm on the 1st, an F35B stealth fighter made a precautionary landing at Kadena Air Base due to suspected electrical problems.

After that, while towing the aircraft, the nose wheel broke down and the nose touched the ground.

It means that no one was injured.

A camera installed by NHK confirmed that the fighter was parked with its nose on the pavement on the taxiway of Kadena Air Base just after 3:00 p.m.

According to the Marine Corps, this fighter belongs to the 121st Marine Fighter Attack Squadron, and is believed to be an aircraft belonging to the amphibious assault ship Tripoli, which is deployed at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni.

The US Marine Corps is investigating the cause of the trouble.
