As prices continue to rise and the corona crisis continues, nationwide telephone consultations are being held free of charge for those who are having a hard time living or who are mentally anxious.

Telephone consultations were conducted by the government's loneliness and isolation countermeasures office before the end of the year.

Counselors listened in detail to consultations such as, "My income decreased because I lost my job as a full-time employee to care for my mother," or "I quit my company because of power harassment. I feel lonely because I haven't been able to see my friends recently."

Depending on the situation of the person seeking advice, the support group will also take measures such as holding an interview again or introducing the contact point of the local government.

Ren Onishi, a policy adviser to the Cabinet Secretariat's Loneliness and Isolation Countermeasures Office, said, ``The year-end and New Year holidays are usually a difficult time for people in need, but this year, various factors such as corona and rising prices are overlapping. I would like to support as many people as possible to have a warm New Year's Eve."

Telephone consultations are available overnight, free of charge, until noon on December 2nd.
