[Explanation] The Academic Annual Conference of the Taiwan Studies Center of Xiamen University and the first "New Era Cross-Strait Forum" were held in Xiamen, Fujian on November 28.

More than a hundred experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait attended the meeting and participated in the seminar through a combination of online and offline methods.

  [Explanation] Sun Yafu, vice president of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. To see the phenomenon, it is necessary to observe the internal and deep-seated reasons, use relevant data to deepen research, and further understand Taiwan politics, cross-strait relations, and the situation in the Taiwan Strait.

  [Explanation] This meeting was hosted by the Taiwan Studies Center of Xiamen University and co-organized by the Collaborative Innovation Center for the Peaceful Development of Cross-Strait Relations. After the opening ceremony and keynote speeches, participating Taiwan-related research experts and scholars held special seminars.

  To strengthen this scientization, we use this big data to strengthen the understanding of Taiwan's social conditions and public opinion, and to enhance the innovation of our research in this area across disciplines.

  (We will) conduct some explorations, whether it is in theory, or from the practice of cross-strait exchanges to do a lot of work.

  [Explanation] It is reported that the Taiwan Research Center of Xiamen University is a substantive research unit jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council in 2000. Relying on Xiamen University, it has gathered first-class Taiwan research experts and scholars from home and abroad. It has become a national key research base and Core think tank.
