[Explanation] On November 28, in the "warm kitchen" opened by the Liudong Branch of Liuzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Guangxi, several hospitalized patients and their families were cooking food by themselves.

In "Fireworks", there are busy figures and voices talking and laughing back and forth.

[Explanation] In early November, the "Warm Kitchen" was officially opened.

This kitchen of about 25 square meters is a fire-free kitchen and uses an induction cooker to cook food.

In the kitchen, there are separate areas for cutting and cooking vegetables, and all kitchen utensils and cooking utensils are available.

Inpatients and their family members of the hospital can use it free of charge upon application to the hospital.

[Explanation] According to Zeng Dingyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Liuzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital, because the non-medical service facilities around the hospital area are not perfect enough, the number of restaurants is small. There are no more choices for purchasing meals. Setting up a "warm kitchen" not only meets the individualized dining needs of patients, but also enables family members of patients to complete cooking in the hospital and deliver meals directly, saving a lot of trouble.

In order to better satisfy the problem of eating for our inpatients, we have opened a "warm kitchen" this year, providing corresponding venues and kitchen utensils, allowing our patients' families to cook by themselves.

[Explanation] It is understood that during the opening period of "Warm Kitchen", the departments with high frequency of use are children's rehabilitation department, intensive care medicine department and obstetrics department.

The inpatients in these departments have in common that they have a longer hospital stay and are more fragile physically and mentally.

Zeng Dingyuan said that the hospital cafeteria can also provide catering services for patients and their families, but it is always difficult to agree. If patients can taste the "taste of home" during hospitalization, they may have a happy mood and recover soon.

[Explanation] After the patient's family member Ms. Qin (pseudonym) passed the application, she came to the "warm kitchen" with a small pot and ingredients to make soup for the child who was hospitalized.

Ms. Qin's child is more than 1 year old this year, and the time of hospitalization is as long as half a month each time.

Ms. Qin said that for her children, some dishes are too "bulky" to eat.

Cooking by yourself can control the size and cooking time of ingredients, and can also cater to children's tastes.

[Concurrent] Ms. Qin (pseudonym), family member of the patient

This is the first time I came to this warm kitchen today. I will buy whatever food I want for the children. Some children may not like it when I go to the canteen, so I think this canteen is very practical and convenient.

[Explanation] In order to ensure the safety of use, the "warm kitchen" is located in an area outside the hospital's diagnosis and treatment area.

Cameras were installed in the kitchen area, management conventions were formulated, and regulations were made on usage time and use of kitchen utensils.

[Concurrent] Zeng Dingyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Liuzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital

Our hospital has special fire safety management regulations for the use of warm kitchens, such as not using open flames, (changing) using induction cookers, and so on.

We have a special department to check and make sure it (food) is qualified.

For the situation that the whole hospital needs to use the warm kitchen, make an overall arrangement so that our users can use it in a timely manner without getting together.

[Explanation] Up to now, the number of users of "Warm Kitchen" has exceeded 150.

The hospital said that in the future, if the demand for kitchen use continues to increase, the hospital will consider expanding the kitchen space and adopt an online reservation model to make the application process more convenient.
