Coir raincoats, bamboo hats, plows, stone mills, waterwheels... In Chejiadou Village, Shanlian Town, Nanxun District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, there is a unique farming culture center. Walking in it, it seems to return to the traditional rural life in northern Zhejiang. scene.

Chejiadou Village has the reputation of "the hometown of sericulture" and has a long farming culture.

In 2011, as a demonstration village of "Comprehensive Rural Land Improvement", Chejiadou Village demolished the original farm houses, and the villagers stopped farming and moved into the newly built community in the village.

In order to preserve the farming culture of the village, Chejiadou Village is preparing to establish a rural museum.

In 2015, Shanlian Chejiadou Village Farming Museum was officially completed and opened for free.

Walking into the museum, the first thing you see is a small wooden boat that has been weathered by wind and rain, implying smooth sailing in work and life.

The exhibition is divided into five chapters: Farming Poems and Paintings, Returning to the Farm, Farming and Cropping, Sericulture Time, and Literature and History.

On the wall, old photos show the history, culture and past life of Chejiadou Village.

The old rural objects of different periods are displayed in the exhibition hall, ranging from production tools to living utensils.

Yu Genrong, the village party secretary, said that the work of collecting collections lasted for 3 years.

More than 800 collections carry the years, contain nostalgia, and there are stories behind them.

  A cylindrical millstone is eye-catching.

Yu Genrong introduced that this was a tool used in the 1950s and 1960s for compacting and leveling the sun-drying fields. Because it was too bulky, it had been idle for many years, and most of the stones were buried in the mulberry field.

When collecting the collection, Yu Genrong led people to dig it out of the ground according to the clues provided by the villagers.

In a quaint and mottled wooden barber box, there are rusty scissors, combs and yellowed electric clippers.

Yu Genrong said that it came from a deceased old barber in the village.

He once carried a wooden box and went from village to house to give villagers a haircut.

The barber's daughter donated the barber box to the museum.

She said that this is the best destination for old things, and when she saw the barber box, she remembered her childhood life.

There are many collections with stories.

The bamboo plaque used to collect powder when grinding was "rescued" by Yu Genrong from the firewood pile in the soft-shelled turtle pond; a "health certificate" for young people of the right age who enlisted in the army in the 1950s was donated by an 89-year-old villager The keel waterwheel used by the ancestors was donated by Yu Genrong's uncle...

Under the guidance of the cultural and tourism department, the Farming Museum has been rectified and upgraded.

Not only have the duplicated exhibits been cleaned up, but also an explanatory board has been added next to the exhibits, so that visitors can understand the purpose and meaning of the old objects.

In August this year, Shanlian Chejiadou Village Farming Museum was selected into the list of the second batch of rural museums in Zhejiang Province.

"This bamboo basket is used to carry goods, and I also carried it when I was a child." A villager brought his family here, explaining to the children while reliving the old days.

In addition to locals, there are also many visitors from other places.

Yu Genrong said that he hoped that more people would remember nostalgia and appreciate the long and honest farming culture.
