GQ France

has announced its men of the year, and among the 2022 winners is Jonathan Cohen.

The actor and director, who returned with

Le Flambeau

, the sequel to

La Flamme

, broadcast on Canal+, was chosen because he “dynamites the disaster-stricken landscape of French comedy by bringing it into a new era”.

His colleague Tahar Rahim was selected because he embodies "the man of the future", "an explorer who is constantly looking for an innocent country in which to build his house, with patience, high standards and humility".

"The Man of the Year for

GQ France

is a plural artist, who marked by his talent, his risk-taking and his freedom, a remarkable personality who frees himself from codes and who has an impact on our culture, symbolizing optimism and open-mindedness,” said Pierre A. M'Pelé, editorial director of the publication, in a press release.

Wide audience

Among the other winners of this edition, the rapper SCH was chosen for his “narrative writing”, while the DJ Kiddy Smile, “queer” icon, is part of the list for his community involvement (and his music, obviously).

GQ

also chose chefs Mory Sacko and Diego Alary, as well as streamer Kameto, one of France's Twitch stars.

The specialist in video games on the Internet was illustrated during the Pixel War, at the beginning of the year, a digital event on the Reddit site, during which the French community, led by Kameto, was opposed to the rest of the world.

GQ

hadn't selected a Man of the Year since 2019.
