What a beautiful discipline and achievement, as it enhances the feeling of self-satisfaction and achievement more and more, as it brings a person closer to achieving what he aspires to.

But how can we be more disciplined and accomplished?

Today I was interrupted by an important point of view of a psychologist, a true self-development expert named Nick Wignall, who built his point of view on how to become more effective and disciplined from a different perspective.

Wignall believes that many people try to be more focused all the time, make a great effort in that, and read a lot about willpower and perseverance, but he believes that the best way to be more disciplined is to do less, not more, if you are doing a difficult task, for example. Trying to do more will probably fail because you are already tired and exhausted.

So we have to take a different approach by staying away from things that confuse our thinking, or distract our focus.

There are four habits that conflict with discipline, so getting rid of them is an effective strategy.

The first habit that we must stop is excessive self-criticism, or self-flagellation, as some believe that the harder he is on himself, the more disciplined he will be and accomplish tasks on time and with the required quality, but this is not necessarily true, and according to the basics of positive psychology, empathy with Selflessness and non-harness may have a more positive effect on discipline, as long as we try to avoid distractions.

In general, we should not stop too much at over-analyzing matters, but rather proceed to work with some sympathy and self-compassion.

The second habit is to live with distractions, and distractions are those things that hinder a person or stop him from accomplishing his tasks, for example if you want to write a report or finish studying a chapter in a subject, you will find the mobile next to you and do not stop holding it and forgetting what you were doing, and some here dwell on Analyzing and learning things about willpower, but the topic may be simpler than that, just leave the mobile phone away while you do the task, you can not resist ice cream or chocolate?

So don't even let them into your home. And so, Steve Jobs says: The best way to focus is to say no.

The third habit is ignoring curiosity, as some believe that avoiding or ignoring curiosity makes them more disciplined, but the truth is that most of the successful people followed their curiosity, and they choose the works that satisfy this curiosity and feel pleasure in performing them, and therefore we need to think again about the work we do, Rather, even in our career path as a whole, we may have chosen the wrong path and far from what we like, so we struggle to continue performing.

The fourth habit is overthinking about the goal. Some people dwell on thinking and imagining achieving their goals more than they work towards achieving those goals. The advice here is that daydreaming will not help in achieving the goal. Set the goal steadily, then start and continue working and take those small steps that lead to big steps. And then you will reach your goal.
