China News Service, Beijing, November 28 (Wei Xianghui) The strongest cold wave since this winter continues to affect our country.

According to China Weather Network, from November 27th to December 1st, the temperature in most of the central and eastern regions will plummet, and the local temperature will drop by more than 20°C. The 0°C line will reach the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. "Quick freezing".

A strong cold wave hit, and the Yanhu Avenue by the East Lake in Wuhan was covered with fallen leaves.

The Central Meteorological Observatory issued the highest level of cold wave warning

Starting from November 27, the Central Meteorological Observatory issued the highest level of orange cold wave warning for two consecutive days.

The latest warning information shows that from November 28 to 30, due to the cold wave, the central and eastern regions of my country will experience severe cooling, strong winds, sand and dust, and large-scale rain and snow from north to south.

There are northerly winds of magnitude 4 to 6 in most areas, and gusts of magnitude 7 to 9; the temperature has dropped by 10 to 16°C successively, and the temperature drop in some areas can reach more than 18°C.

Zhang Fanghua, the chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, said that since the afternoon of the 26th, the cold wave weather has entered my country from Xinjiang, and it has brought strong cooling to Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and other places. The temperature drop in some areas has reached 12-20 ℃.

The above-mentioned areas generally experience strong winds, with local winds reaching magnitudes 10-12, and extreme wind speeds in some areas of Xinjiang and Qinghai even exceeded the historical extremes of the same period.

At the same time, sand and dust weather also appeared in eastern Xinjiang, the southern Xinjiang Basin, and western Inner Mongolia.

From the progress map of the national freezing line released by China Weather Network, it can be seen that as the cold wave continues to move eastward and southward, on the morning of November 29, the freezing line continued to push southward to the Huanghuai and northwestern Yunnan. new low.

Among the cities, the lowest temperature in Changchun, Shenyang, and Hohhot fell below -10°C, and the lowest temperature in Beijing and Taiyuan was only -5°C and -8°C, both of which will fall below 0°C for the first time and hit a new low since this winter. The upset index is five star.

On the morning of November 30, the frozen area will expand to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The eastern section of the frozen line will press southward to southern Jiangsu, southern Anhui, and northern Jiangxi. The western section will not change much. The lowest temperatures in cities such as Wuhan and Nanjing are around 0°C , cold and unbearable.

On the morning of December 1, the freezing line basically pressed southward to the southernmost point of this process, which is also the southernmost point since this winter. The lowest temperature in southern Anhui, southern Guizhou, and southern Hunan will drop below freezing point for the first time, and Hefei, Guiyang, and Nanjing will experience below freezing point The frozen area will cover more than 80% of my country's land.

Zhang Fanghua said that one of the most notable features of this cold wave process is the drastic drop in temperature.

On the one hand, November is in the adjustment stage of atmospheric circulation, and it is also a month when my country is relatively prone to cold waves.

Recently, with the adjustment of the atmospheric circulation in the northern hemisphere, a polar vortex brought a strong cold air from high polar latitudes down along the northwest airflow to affect China, causing severe cooling.

On the other hand, the cold air affecting China in the early stage of November this year was weak, and the temperature in most parts of the country was obviously on the high side. Because of the high temperature in the early stage, the temperature drop caused by the arrival of the cold air was very drastic.

Regarding the temperature trend in the later period, Zhang Fanghua said that after the cold wave, the temperature in the northern region will gradually rise from west to east around the 30th, and the temperature in the southern region will also start to rise around December 2.

According to forecasts, starting around December 4, the temperature in most parts of the country will gradually return to normal or slightly higher levels.

"According to the current data analysis, after this cold wave, the strength of the cold air affecting our country in the next ten days will be relatively weak." (End)
