The August Prize is awarded annually with the aim of rewarding and drawing attention to newly published books in Swedish.

A total of 18 books have been nominated in the three categories of fiction, nonfiction and children's and youth books.

The award gala is broadcast live from the Concert House in Stockholm with Sissela Kyle as presenter.

Little August prize 

The Little August Prize went to Ali Alonzo from Stockholm for the short story "Death in Rome".

The prize is Sweden's largest literary prize competition for young people and goes every year to an author between the ages of 16 and 20.
