Recently, the Deoksugung Palace Site Museum of the Southern Song Dynasty unveiled its mystery and officially opened to the public. For the first time, the forbidden garden of the imperial palace in the Southern Song Dynasty was truly seen by the public.

During the Southern Song Dynasty, Deoksugung Palace, also known as "Bei Nei", was an important royal palace and garden building located in the capital Lin'an (now Hangzhou). Song Gaozong and Song Xiaozong lived here after their abdication.

And the imperial city of the Southern Song Dynasty, commonly known as "Nan Nei" or "Da Nei", when can it be seen?

This is also a matter of public concern.

The Imperial City Site of the Southern Song Dynasty is located at the eastern foot of Fenghuang Mountain in the south of Hangzhou.

After Zhao Gou, Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty established Hangzhou as his capital, he built the Forbidden Garden of Miyagi on the former site of Zhouzhi in the Northern Song Dynasty.

It starts from the eastern foot of Mantou in the east, reaches the west foot of Fenghuang Mountain in the west, starts from Tiaoxuwan in the south, and ends in Wansongling in the north, with a radius of 4.5 kilometers.

Among them, the palace city is divided into the court meeting area, the back bedroom area, the back garden area, the palace service area, the Donghuamen palace area, and the compassionate palace area.

The road at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain in Hangzhou, which was also the passage for the ministers of the Southern Song Dynasty to go to court, was strictly photographed.

After more than 800 years of ups and downs, the old Fenghuangshan University has now become the home of ordinary people, and many units have settled here.

Standing at the intersection at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain, the author can no longer see the prosperity of the past, but only sees the outer wall of a cafe with the words "Beside Hening Gate" written in large characters.

Hening Gate is the north gate of Dane. Due to geographical conditions, Danei in the Southern Song Dynasty was the only imperial palace in the history of "Nangong Beishi". The city is on the north side of the palace, so Danei North Gate has become the main passage instead, and most officials go to court. "back door".

Near the intersection of Fenghuangshanjiao Road and Wansongling Road, passing through a dilapidated and crowded residential area, the author saw a soil slope covered densely with plants. According to archaeological evidence, this is the site of the North Palace Wall in Da Nei, and it is the only one in Da Nei so far. Visible surface structures.

Now Da Nei is also a place frequented by Internet celebrities in Hangzhou.

Fenghuang Yuyuan Art Base, located at No. 7, Fenghuang Shanjiao Road, is a provincial-level cultural industrial park in Zhejiang.

Walking in the park, you can see bakeries of different styles, handicraft workshops with log characteristics, and maker spaces where cutting-edge designers gather.

These designers may not necessarily know that this is the area where the Daqing Palace, the "Golden Luan Palace" in Da Nei, is located.

Zhuo Jun, deputy director of the Hangzhou Bureau of Gardens and Cultural Relics, told the author that at present, formal archaeological excavations have not yet started in the core area of the Southern Song Dynasty imperial city site, only some archaeological exploration has been carried out.

Even after the archaeological excavation, the protection display still needs to go through a long process.

The first is demolition and land replacement, and the second is the application of the archaeological plan. After the application is approved, the construction plan of the archaeological site park that can be implemented should be compiled according to the archaeological situation.

"It is unlikely to see Da Nei in a short time." Zhuo Jun said that Hangzhou is actively promoting the comprehensive archaeological excavation of the Southern Song Dynasty imperial city site.

According to the "Hangzhou Release" news on October 23, Liu Xin, the mayor of Hangzhou at the time, conducted a special investigation into the protection and inheritance of Song Yun culture, including going to the archaeological site in the core area of the Southern Song Dynasty Imperial City site to learn more about the progress of the archaeology, and inspected the Newly unearthed porcelain fragments, glazed tiles and building components.

As early as 2009, Hangzhou held an international competition for conceptual design around the Southern Song Dynasty imperial city ruins.

At that time, a conceptual design proposal jointly proposed by Zhejiang Ancient Architecture Design and Research Institute and an Israeli design company won the first prize.

Liu Jie, deputy director of the Zhejiang Ancient Architectural Design and Research Institute, told the author that in the conceptual design plan in 2009, the restoration of the imperial city was speculated based on literature and archaeological data. For the first time, the imperial city of the Southern Song Dynasty was presented in a three-dimensional form. In front of everyone, it is also the first time that the state of protection and display that the Southern Song Dynasty imperial city will present in the future has been initially outlined.

It includes a variety of display methods, such as Luming display, ground sign display, green display, city wall form display, etc.

Later, due to various reasons, the archaeological excavation work in the core area of the Southern Song Dynasty Imperial City site was not fully advanced.

However, in recent years, the Zhejiang Ancient Architectural Design and Research Institute has not stopped optimizing the design of the protection and display of the Southern Song Dynasty imperial city, and is constantly deepening and optimizing it.

When deepening the conceptual design plan, Liu Jie believes that there is still a lot of work to be done to restore the speculated content.

These include the four boundaries of the imperial city wall, especially the direction of the southeast corner and the north boundary are not clear; There are few records on the internal layout of the administrative district, and few records on the buildings in the flat area in the south of the imperial city; there are few researches on important buildings such as Daqing Hall, Chuigong Hall, and Lizhengmen Tower.

According to these questions, the designer's understanding of the Southern Song Dynasty imperial city is still deepening.

"This is an imperial city that includes landscapes and gardens." Liu Jie said that Zhejiang Ancient Architectural Design and Research Institute has done a lot of on-site investigations and literature research. It is regular, but it is built because of the mountains, and the water is collected into a lake, which embodies a very unique "Song rhyme".

"The current plan is more about the protection and display of the main palace area and palace gate nodes of the imperial city." Liu Jie said, for example, the display of the south city wall. In the latest plan, a structure in the shape of a city wall will be built on the ground , as a ground sign display, and inside the city wall there are city wall ruins and other activity spaces for Luming display.

In addition to the city walls, there are many innovations in the protection and display of ruins in the imperial city, such as the northern entrance of the imperial city - Hening Gate. The main entrance—the overall design of Lizhengmen is designed with the royal road discovered by archaeology as the central axis.

Zhuo Jun said that the protection and display project of Deoksugung Palace in the "Northland" in the early stage is of great reference value for the protection and display of the "Dainee" Southern Song Dynasty imperial city site, especially the waterproof treatment of the earthen site, the exposed display, and the digital means of expression, etc. Therefore, the public will definitely see a more exciting "Da Nei" in the future.
