The Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office and the Japan Fair Trade Commission are suspected of violating the Antimonopoly Act in a bid-rigging case related to the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics test competitions. The number of companies that were searched, including "Dentsu", was six.

According to people involved, the organizing committee had prepared a list of companies expected to participate in the bidding in advance, but the contents of the list and the results of the successful bids were almost identical, so the special investigation department and others were fraudulent. We are investigating the details of the process, assuming that orders have been adjusted.

On the 28th, four companies were newly searched: advertising giants "Hakuhodo" and "Tokyu Agency", as well as event production companies "Same Two" and "Fuji Creative Corporation".

In 2018, the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games conducted 26 bids to select contractors for the planning of test competitions for each sport. The company won the bid.

The Special Investigation Department of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office and the Fair Trade Commission are investigating suspicion of violating the Antimonopoly Act on suspicion of collusion between vendors in the form of the Organizing Committee's involvement in these bids. On the 25th, they searched the homes of Dentsu and former executives of the Organizing Committee.

According to people involved, the "Games Management Bureau", which was in charge of ordering the bids at the Organizing Committee, requested Dentsu's cooperation and created a list of companies that are expected to participate in the bids based on past achievements. I know that it was created, but I found out that the contents and the successful bid results were almost the same.

Since there were many bids in which only one company participated, the Special Investigation Department and the Fair Trade Commission concluded that the Organizing Committee and Dentsu played a central role in coordinating orders. It is believed that the seized materials will be analyzed and the actual situation will be clarified.
