This event is held every year at the red brick warehouses facing Hakodate Port, where a huge Christmas tree is set up on a barge on the sea and lit.
A Christmas tree with a height of about 20 meters is made of Todomatsu from Hokkaido, and was completed by decorating with light bulbs from the 14th of this month.
On the 28th, work was carried out to carry the tree from the workshop facing Hakodate Bay to the venue in front of the red brick warehouse. I hoisted it up and put it on a barge.
After that, the barge crossed the sea in about 20 minutes, and when it arrived at the venue about 3 kilometers away, tourists were immediately taking pictures.
An 8-year-old girl from Sapporo said, "I was surprised when a big tree suddenly appeared."
Also, a woman who visited from Yokohama said, "Because of Hokkaido, the tree was beautiful, big, and impressive. I was very happy to get a taste of the early Christmas feeling."
The huge tree of "Hakodate Christmas Fantasy" will be lit up at 6:00 pm on the 1st of next month after the test lighting etc.
