On the morning of November 26, the former site of Neishan Bookstore with a history of more than 100 years reopened to the public in Hongkou District, Shanghai with a new look of "1927·Lu Xun and Neishan Memorial Bookstore".

  The brand-new Neishan Bookstore is reconstructed from the old site of Neishan Bookstore, the former Xinhua Bookstore Shanyin Road store and the surrounding space. It has three floors and expands the original Neishan Bookstore from only 100 square meters to more than 800 square meters.

  The Uchiyama Bookstore, opened by the famous Japanese social activist Uchiyama Kanzo, was once the bookstore Lu Xun visited the most after he settled in Shanghai in 1927. During the turbulent years, Lu Xun bought books, received and forwarded letters, received guests and took refuge here, etc., with Uchiyama. Wanzao forged a profound transnational friendship.

  Neishan Bookstore was also the main selling point of left-wing progressive books in Shanghai in the 1930s, as well as a contact point for Chinese Communists and progressives, enjoying a high reputation in the Chinese literary circle.

  As one of the important red venues in Hongkou District, this time Neishan Bookstore is "renovating the old as old", presenting history in an authentic way, and continuing the red fire. It is also a collection of bookstores, convenience stores, coffee shops, book clubs, exhibitions, etc. It is a "cultural complex" that integrates cultural exchanges, citizens' discussions, and building a platform for cultural communication at home and abroad.

  It is reported that in addition to rare editions of Lu Xun’s related works and other selected books and themed cultural and creative products, Neishan Bookstore also focuses on introducing and recommending excellent original books on Chinese culture and Shanghai themes from Japanese publications, and conveys the friendship between Lu Xun and Neishan through The exchange of contemporary publications has been carried forward, making it a new frontier for international exchanges.
