In commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the death of painter Sadamichi Hirasawa, who was arrested as a suspect in the Teigin Incident and continued to claim his innocence, an exhibition of unpublished works will be held in Taito Ward, Tokyo. It is written.

Hirasawa was arrested 74 years ago in 1948 as a suspect in the Teigin Incident, in which 12 people, including bank employees, were poisoned in Tokyo. Died at the age of 95.



An exhibition held by researchers and others on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of his death introduces about 20 of his paintings and the painting materials he used.

Among them, "Shinobazu Pond", which was drawn before his arrest and will be shown for the first time, expresses the atmosphere of Ueno's Shinobazu Pond with snow on the trees with fine brushwork.



Also, in the work "Shiraun Waku" that I drew in prison, I drew a magnificent Mt. Fuji rising in the sea of ​​clouds with a powerful touch.



Keiko Yabe, a graduate student at Kyoto University of the Arts, who planned the exhibition, said, "By having as many people as possible see my work, I want people to pay attention to the life of Sadamichi Hirasawa, who was also active as a painter." was
