The movie 'Decision to Break Up' (director Park Chan-wook, production Moho Film) proved to be the best film of the year by winning the most awards at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.



At the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards Ceremony held at KBS Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 25th, 'Decision to Break Up' won Best Picture, Best Director (Park Chan-wook), Best Actor (Park Hae-il), Best Actress (Tang Wei), Best Screenplay (Chung Seo-kyung, Park Chan-wook), and Music Awards. (Cho Young-wook) won a total of 6 trophies.



'Decision to Break Up' is a film about a detective investigating a case of sudden death, meeting the wife of the deceased and feeling both suspicion and interest at the same time.

Recognized for its cinematic quality by receiving the Best Director Award (Park Chan-wook) at the Cannes International Film Festival, which closed in May, this film was released in Korea in June and met with 1.88 million viewers nationwide.



The charming screenplay combining investigation and melodrama, director Park Chan-wook's delicate direction, and Park Hae-il and Tang Wei's dazzling performances received favorable reviews from critics and audiences.

After a long-term screening for nearly two months, it created a fandom of 'Heechinja (those who are crazy about the 'decision to break up')' and 'Hegyeolsa (people who love the 'decision to break up')', creating a syndrome.



At this awards ceremony, 'Decision to Break Up', which was nominated in a total of 13 categories and set the record for the most nominations, dominated the spotlight by winning all the major awards.

Director Park Chan-wook, the main character of the film, was unable to attend the awards ceremony because he was filming the American drama 'Sympathizer' in the United States.

The Best Director award was won by Kim Shin-young, a comedian who made her screen debut through 'Decision to Break Up'.

Kim Shin-young introduced herself as "comedian, Kim Shin-young, a comic actor in Korean" and said, "It's like a dream for her to be in this place," she said about her feelings on the stage of the Blue Dragon Film Awards.

The best actor award went to Park Hae-il for 'Decision to Break Up'.

Hae-il Park, who received the Blue Dragon Award for Best Actor for the second time after the movie 'Arrow,' said, "I am grateful to director Park Chan-wook for entrusting me with the role of detective Jang Hae-jun and allowing me to play freely. He wrote Hae-jun's lines in an attractive way. I am also grateful to writer Jeong Seo-kyung.”



Previously, the names of the actors who worked together in the movie were called one by one, including partner Tang Wei, who shed tears while watching the 'Decision to Break Up' ost 'Fog' stage with Hoon-hee Jung and La Poem.

The best actress award was also won by Tang Wei for 'Decision to Break Up'.
