The municipality has issued an order to place these establishments in tobacco-free zones.
“The executive has set itself the ambition of making Lyon a “City of Children” and is committed to improving the overall” of the inhabitants, argues the city in a press release, recalling that smoking causes 75,000 deaths in France each year. .
Since 2015, it is already forbidden to smoke near children's play areas in the parks of Lyon.
In addition, an experiment has been carried out since January 2020 in the Zénith park (3rd arrondissement) where smoking is totally prohibited.
