Nîmes Métropole, the agglomeration community of the Gard prefecture, has decided to turn off the lights of the roads in the various economic activity zones (ZAE) which it manages.

The measure was adopted on November 7 as part of the energy sobriety plan, in response to the environmental and energy crisis.

Eliminate unnecessary consumption, optimize use and use more efficient devices, “says the community.

The measure concerns 22 ZAE within nine of the 39 municipalities of the agglomeration.

Lights will be off between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

For a few weeks, the intensity of the lighting had already been reduced by half between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The measure comes into effect from Friday, November 25.
