In response to the large number of consultations regarding the former Unification Church that have been received by the government and other agencies, more than 200 lawyers from all over the country have formed a defense team.

It will serve as a source for legal consultation, and will negotiate for recovery if damage is confirmed.

According to the defense team, out of the consultations regarding the former Unification Church received by the government and others, 300 consultations were handed over to the Japan Federation of Bar Associations due to the need for legal responses, and consultations were directly received by the Japan Federation of Bar Associations. and more.

In response to this situation, the defense team was formed with the support of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations and other organizations, and has more than 200 participating lawyers.

In addition to assigning members to bar associations in each prefecture and responding to consultations, those who have been confirmed to be damaged will engage in collective negotiations toward recovery.

If negotiations do not resolve the issue, litigation will be considered.

Lawyer Murakoshi, who serves as the head of the group, commented on the difference from the "National Association of Lawyers Against Spiritual Marketing Laws," which had previously provided support to victims, saying, "Until now, the lawyers of the liaison association weren't able to handle all the consultations. In the future, I would like to conduct nationwide activities as a defense team while coordinating with the Liaison Committee."

The lawyers will accept consultations over the phone from the 1st of next month.
