A departure and a return.

This weekend, the general manager of Twitter France announced his departure on the social network.

At the same time, Elon Musk, the owner of the social network, announced to reactivate Donald Trump's account, after a survey posted on his account.

The former president of the United States had been banned since the storming of the Capitol in January 2021.

The past few days have been rich in twists and turns in the soap opera between billionaire Elon Musk and the social network Twitter.

This Sunday, the director general of Twitter France Damien Viel announced his departure.

We don't know if it's his decision, he simply said on Twitter "Pride, honor and mission accomplished. Goodbye #twitterfrance. What an adventure! What a team! What meetings! Thank you all for these seven incredible and intense years. "

A departure that comes in the midst of a storm for Twitter and its employees since the takeover of the social network by Elon Musk on October 27.

Trump prefers to stay on "Truth Social"

And the new boss of the social network was talked about again, a few hours earlier, by deciding to reactivate Donald Trump's Twitter account.

The former President of the United States had been banned since the Capitol was stormed by his supporters in January 2021. It was following a poll that Elon Musk made this decision.

He asked netizens whether to reinstate the account.

The "Yes" won by a narrow majority, winning just under 52% of the 15 million voters.

However, no new tweet from Donald Trump on the horizon.

He says he prefers to stay on his own social network, "Truth Social", which he just launched after being banned from Twitter.

On the other hand, what he does not specify is that he also has an additional constraint now: a clause which requires him to publish exclusively for at least 6 hours on Truth Social, before publishing elsewhere.

But with the announcement of his candidacy for the presidential elections, will Donald Trump resist for a long time before returning to Twitter?

He has more than 87 million subscribers, compared to less than 4.5 million on Truth Social.
