Drought eased in many places

Under the influence of rainy weather, the drought in some parts of the south will also be further alleviated.

From the 15th to the 18th, the rainfall in the south covered an area of about 1.79 million square kilometers, and the drought in Jiangxi, Hunan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Anhui and other places was eased.

At 18:00 on the 16th, the Central Meteorological Observatory lifted the yellow drought warning, and the 90-day drought warning came to an end.

According to the "China Meteorological News" report, from the 14th to the 17th, the meteorological departments of the southern provinces seized favorable weather conditions and continued to carry out joint operations of aircraft and ground artificial rainfall enhancement.

On the 19th, the Central Meteorological Observatory released data. From the 15th to the 18th, Guangxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, and Hunan carried out a total of 16 aircraft precipitation operations, with a cumulative flight time of 60 hours and 48 minutes; Organized 1005 ground rainfall enhancement operations.

It is estimated that the area affected by this rainfall increase is about 800,000 square kilometers, and the cumulative increase in rainfall is about 400 million cubic meters.

At present, the drought and high forest fire danger in parts of Jiangnan and South China have eased to a certain extent.

Wang Fei, deputy director of the Effect Evaluation Office of the Weather Modification Center of the China Meteorological Administration, said that under the combined effect of natural precipitation and artificial rainfall enhancement, the area of drought has been significantly reduced, and areas with high forest fire risk levels have been fully downgraded, and the forest area covered by higher risk levels has changed from the largest 205,000 square kilometers dropped to 14,800 square kilometers.

Li Sen, deputy director of the Ecological and Agricultural Meteorological Office of the National Meteorological Center, said that the southern region needs to seize the favorable opportunity to do a good job of water storage and water conservation. Hunan, Jiangxi and other places are recommended to do a good job of continuous drought relief, and Hunan and Guizhou should pay attention to preventing periodic low temperatures.

Temperatures in most parts of the country are still higher than normal

According to China Weather Network, on the 20th, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan, Shandong and other places were filled with heavy fog. Red warning signals for heavy fog were issued in many places, and many highways were closed due to low visibility.

On the 21st and 22nd, due to the joint influence of precipitation and cold air, the atmospheric diffusion conditions in most parts of the country will improve, and the fog and haze will weaken and dissipate.

In terms of cold air, this morning, due to the influence of cold air, northeastern Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, and western Jilin experienced a 4-8°C drop in temperature, and local drops in northeastern Inner Mongolia and northwestern Heilongjiang reached 10-20°C.

Today, the impact of cold air on Inner Mongolia and Northeast China will come to an end, but the temperature will hardly rise significantly in the future, and the temperature will be low.
