“Roshydromet issued a storm warning due to the fact that freezing rain is expected from 03:00 in the morning and in the first half of the day,” TASS quoted him as saying.

The forecaster noted that some areas of Moscow and the Moscow region "will turn into a skating rink", as such precipitation leads to instant icing of the surface.

Earlier, Deputy Moscow Mayor for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Pyotr Biryukov said that the capital's services were put on high alert due to the upcoming snowfall and freezing rain.
