In the early morning of winter, Golmud South Station, located at the foot of Kunlun Mountain, is cold and windy, and the temperature is only about minus 10 degrees Celsius. However, the workers in the Genan Signal Work Area of the Genan Signal Workshop of the Golmud Electric Section of Qinghai-Tibet Group Corporation are all ready to set off and prepare for the marshalling of the station. Field reducer for "skylight" maintenance.

Golmud South Station is located in Golmud City, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, with a total construction area of about 70,231.4 square meters. It is the largest marshalling station built at one time on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and an important regional marshalling station in western China. The train unpacking operation of the Xige section, Gela section, Gedun railway and Geku railway is an important hub connecting Qinghai, Tibet, and Xinjiang to the mainland. More than 200 vehicles complete running, unpacking, and reorganizing here every day , and then sent to all parts of the country, the busy transportation tasks are always testing the safety and reliability of railway equipment.

According to Ma Jinming, director of the Genan Signal Workshop, because the station is located on a plateau Gobi, the wind and sand are raging all year round, which brings a lot of difficulties to the daily maintenance of railway equipment.

"The connecting rod of the hump equipment reducer in the marshalling yard is exposed to the air all the year round. In order to ensure its good function, lubricating grease should be applied regularly. The sandy weather will gradually solidify on the connecting rod to form a particularly hard layer" Sludge' has caused a lot of hidden dangers to the safety of railway equipment."

As the on-site safety officer shouted, "No car going up, no car going down, you can work on the road." The workers quickly entered the marshalling yard and started an intense and orderly maintenance work.

Next to the J331 reducer, Xu Quanxin, a young employee, squatted down and scraped off layers of oil on the surface of the reducer with a small scraper, and then gently bounced it onto the ballast with a small brush.

After cleaning the surface oil, open the control valve box of the reducer, take out a hair dryer, and carefully blow off the dust on the surface of the three-position five-way valve and the heating resistor, and finally take out a small piece of clean white cloth, and put the equipment on Gently wipe dry.

"In addition to the impact of wind and sand, when the truck is running, the sprinkled coal ash and iron ore powder will also deposit and form silt. If it is not cleaned up in time, it will still cause hidden dangers in the red light belt." Xu Quanxin introduced that in addition to the "face" check, It is also necessary to inspect and rectify key equipment such as the oil cup, air cup, and solenoid valve of the "liner" reducer. Especially in winter, poor sewage discharge will cause the equipment to freeze, which will affect the brake failure of the reducer.

On the other side, employees Zhang Chunyu and Wang Tingrong cooperated tacitly and were adjusting and testing the screws on the reducer.

Zhang Chunyu held a wrench in his hand and tightened the screws on the reducer one by one. After tightening, he took out the steel tape and began to measure the opening size of the reducer, and recorded each data one by one.

"When the trucks are grouped and unloaded, the vibration is large, the reducer is used frequently, and the screws are easy to loosen. Therefore, we will check and fasten the screws of each part one by one during each maintenance, and record the damaged parts in time."

As the reducer was started again and again, Wang Tingrong watched the operation voltage value of the reducer on the test instrument while observing the operation of the reducer. Using both hands and eyes, the test, meter reading and recording were completed in one go.

Beside the other reducer, employee Wang Jin prostrated himself on the ground, carefully checking whether there was any paint peeling off under the brake beam of the reducer. If so, he carefully shoveled off the paint surface of the remaining cracks, and wiped the paint-off parts with cotton gauze After cleaning, take out a can of black spray paint and spray it evenly on the part where the paint has fallen off.

"When the paint falls off, the rain and snow mix with the potassium chloride and magnesium chloride sprinkled by the vehicle, which is easy to corrode the reducer, so the paint should be repaired in time. If the paint is too thick, the paint surface will easily bulge, and if it is too thin, it will not be effective. Protective effect, so we must grasp the strength of our men." Wang Jin said.

It is reported that starting from November, in response to the impact of seasonal changes on equipment safety, the Golmud Electric Service Section has carried out blanket inspections and overhauls of 32 reducers in the marshalling yard of Golmud South Station, and conducted seasonal inspections on the performance parameters of the reducers. Adjust and rectify the mechanical and electrical hidden dangers found in the inspection in time to ensure the safe wintering of the reducer and the stable operation of the plateau marshalling yard.
