It caused people's panic and scientists were confused. Sheep walked in a circular ring for 12 continuous days (video)

A video clip filmed in a sheep pen in northern China surprised its viewers, after it spread on social media and baffled scientists who were unable to explain it.

The video, which was filmed in early November.

It included a scene of a herd of sheep running in a continuous circle for twelve full days without stopping.

Sheep were spinning in a clockwise motion inside their pen in northern China in a scene that left people in shock and confusion as they tried to understand the behavior in the video that went viral.

The owner of the sheep was astonished by the behavior of her herd.

Speaking to local media, Ms. Miao said the circular movement started with just a few sheep before other members of the flock joined them.

In CCTV footage, hundreds of sheep can be seen following each other in a circle.

The other sheep stand in the middle of a circle, before finally deciding to join the rest, while a few remain in the center of the circle and remain completely silent.

The mysterious videos were filmed in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, on November 4.

Although there are 34 barns for sheep in the farm, only the sheep in barn 13 moved in the widespread scene, while it was not known why the sheep behaved in this way and made this puzzling show.

According to Al-Arabiya.net, experts say that a disease makes some animals appear disoriented and begin to spin.

Listeriosis can inflame one side of the brain and sheep can be infected and cause them to behave in a strange way.

And last year, sheep in East Sussex caused a similar uproar when they were seen standing in concentric circles.

Scientists have long studied why other animals, such as sharks and turtles, move in circular patterns.

However, they have not yet come to a conclusion as to why.
