A fully automated grocery store open every day, 24 hours a day, has just opened near Garges-Sarcelles station (Val-d'Oise).

The store welcomes customers in a 15 m2 red shipping container marked with a Boxy logo.

There are no employees there, says

Le Parisien

.

The entire service is in fact managed by an artificial intelligence.

To enter the convenience store, you must download an application and provide your bank details.

A QR code then opens the doors.

Several visitors can shop at the same time.

A dozen cameras and sensors help the system identify the products chosen or put back.

The offer includes 250 references.

The cash desks are absent because the buyers' bank account is directly debited.

At Boxy, consumers can find "everyday convenience products, snacking, slightly gourmet products" but no alcohol or fresh products, explains Stéphanie Gabriel, Marketing Director of Boxy.

The brand already has around forty independent grocery stores in Île-de-France.

The goal is to reach 50 convenience stores before the end of the year and 1,000 across the country by 2025.
