His performance did not go unnoticed on Wednesday in front of the arenas of Nîmes (Gard).

The actress Marie Cornillon, naked and made up as a bull, demanded the abolition of bullfighting, in front of the Roman amphitheater.

The capital of Gard is one of the towns that still regularly hosts bullfighting shows.

A “vital bill”

Peta had organized this performance while the law commission of the National Assembly was considering, Wednesday, the bill of Aymeric Caron (Nupes) to abolish bullfighting.

If the parliamentarians opposed the text for the first time, this rejection will not prevent its examination, scheduled for November 24, in the hemicycle.

"Peta, whose motto says in particular that "the animals do not belong to us and [that] we do not have to use them for our entertainment", and who opposes speciesism, an ideology postulating a false superiority of humans on other animals to justify their exploitation, encourages those who oppose it to write to their deputies, asking them to support this vital bill", writes the association.
