In response, Kagoshima Prefecture began disposing of about 120,000 chickens raised at the poultry farm from 4:00 am on the 18th.



In addition, the area within a radius of 3 km from this poultry farm is designated as a "restricted movement area" where the movement of chickens and eggs is prohibited, and the area within a radius of 10 km is designated as a "restricted area" where shipments from that area are prohibited. We are planning to disinfect livestock-related vehicles that pass through highways.



According to Kagoshima Prefecture, there are a total of 107 farms within a 10-kilometer radius, and about 5.09 million chickens are raised.



On the other hand, in the Izumi Plain, which is known as the largest wintering ground for cranes in Japan, the number of dead or weakened cranes collected this season reached a record high of 204 by the 16th, of which 57 were highly pathogenic. of avian influenza viruses have been detected.



For this reason, the Ministry of the Environment has dispatched a team of experts to the site from the 17th to grasp the infection status.
