One out of every three working people has a side job that is different from their main job. A survey was completed.

This survey was conducted online in September by CrowdWorks, which operates an intermediary site for side jobs, and received responses from more than 1,000 people working at companies and other companies nationwide.

When asked if they had any experience with a "side job," ▽

20% said they "currently" and

▽ 14% said ▽ "had experience in the past

." was 66%.

This means that there are many cases where they work in sales or consulting at other companies, or sell online on their own.

The average monthly income was

▽ “less than 50,000 yen” at 65%,

▽ “50,000 yen to less than 100,000 yen” at 16%, and

▽ “100,000 yen or more” at 13%.

When asked about what they gained from their side jobs with multiple answers,

52% answered "additional income as living expenses"

and 24% answered "skills and connections that cannot be obtained in their main

job

."

There were many answers such as "I can't concentrate on my main business"

.

The person in charge of the survey said, ``Many people started side jobs after 2020 when remote work spread due to the corona crisis, and it is expected to increase in the future. There are also concerns about this, and it is important for companies and workers to have good discussions about systems and conditions."
