Propelled by the hit "Like A Hobo" in 2008, Charlie Winston returns with a fifth album: "As I Am".

After a break in his career, then a change of record company, the English singer opens up about his gentle metamorphosis, where he went from vagabond, hobo, English tunes to a duet with the Frenchman Vianney.

Almost 15 years ago, he topped the charts with a fresh, laid-back hit, "Like A Hobo," like a wanderer.

His album, too, was number one in sales and his dandy style recognizable among a thousand.

At the end of the year, singer Charlie Winston returns to the front of the stage with a new album entitled "As I Am".

Seeking to show a more mature and more authentic side, the British forty-something, now domiciled in France, confided in Philippe Vandel's microphone in

about his slow metamorphosis.

On the cover of his album, he appears quite simply, in a T-shirt, without his costume and his "eternal hat".

A duet with singer Vianney

"I wanted to be as I am in life. Since the Covid, I took a lot of time to reflect on myself, on my life, on who I am now. And there are a lot of things that have changed since my debut on stage", explains Charlie Winston.

It must be said that since "Like A Hobo", the life of the Briton has been shaken up several times: a break in 2017, the pandemic and then a change of record company.

"The director of my new record company was very interested in my proposal when I presented him with a first song. I took advantage of 2020 to write 25 songs, which I sent to the dropper," he describes.

A discussion ensued to determine with whom Charlie Winston could collaborate to embody this new style.

And the name of Vianney, singer but above all producer, has gradually surfaced.

The two even shared music from the album:

Shifting Paradigms.

The two artists, both musicians in addition to their voices, preferred to play themselves on the title.

And to discover this album, Charlie Winston will be in concert in Strasbourg this Thursday, in Nancy on Friday, in Lyon on November 23 and in Bordeaux on November 24.
