This month, Louvre Abu Dhabi celebrates its fifth anniversary under the slogan “The Big Story Continues”;

It hosts an impressive array of new artworks, cultural events, educational activities and world-class entertainment.

And based on the museum’s keenness to constantly involve community members in its programs, its visitors will be able to celebrate for a whole month with many events, including displaying new pieces of art acquired or loaned in the museum’s galleries, the most important of which is a painting by the artist Leonardo da Vinci, in addition to workshops and dialogue sessions, and more. This celebration will be completed by a series of unforgettable concerts by three artists of international and regional acclaim: John Legend, Majed Al Mohandes and Omar Khairat.

This celebration will be held with the support of Cartier and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, as partners of the Museum in commemorating its fifth anniversary.

Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum, said: “The celebration of the museum’s fifth anniversary is a contribution from the museum to the cultural transformation that the emirate is witnessing, in addition to its role in enriching people’s lives by establishing cultural ties and enhancing interest in our common human story.

The museum's galleries have received collections of art from all over the world on loan and acquisition.

Where the museum supplemented its collection with one of the masterpieces of art, the painting “John the Baptist”, the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, which is the first of four major pieces loaned from the Louvre, Paris, to the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

This collection is complemented by outstanding works on loan from partner museums, including an ivory comb dating back to 2300 BC, and much more.
