A Machiavellian plot, very nasty villains, an extraordinary cop.

The thriller

Insignis

, by Charlotte Letourneur, won the

20 Minutes

novel 2022 prize. Maxime Chattam, president of the jury, said he was "blown away" by the first thriller by this 39-year-old former nurse, who lives in Brittany.

“I was blown away by this book.

I devoured it in a day because I didn't want to do anything else, I wanted to know how it was going to end, ”he told our media.

Insignis

arrives this Thursday, November 10 in bookstores, published by our partner, Les Nouveaux Auteurs.

“I was waiting for a train that was four hours late, and I took a notebook”

In our news podcast “Minute Papillon!

“, let’s meet Charlotte Letourneur, the winner of this 2022 edition. The author, who until then signed “fantasy” works, had the idea for her book on a station platform in Rennes, when her train had four hours late.

“I was in the station, and I came across the article in

20 Minutes

which announced the opening of the prize (…).

I took a notebook, and I saw what could stick with my story.

I sent it to my little sister, who said "go ahead, go for it".

The author tells us about four months of intense work to bring to fruition a tortuous plot, where appearances are deceiving.

What are the elements of a good thriller?

How to go from "fantasy" to thriller?

What is his advice for aspiring writers?

Does this price change anything for Charlotte Letourneur?

These are questions from this podcast to listen to above.

You can meet Charlotte Letourneur during the award ceremony, from the hands of the jury president Maxime Chattam, on November 18 at the Decitre bookstore in Levallois-Perret (Hauts-de-Seine), or during a meeting scheduled for November 26. at the Plouer-sur-Rance Media Library (Côtes d'Armor).
