The national day of action organized this Thursday for the defense of wages by the CGT brought together 30,400 people throughout France, according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior, the CGT claiming for its part "more than 100,000 participants".

In Paris, the police counted 2,400 demonstrators, and the CGT, which called alone for this day of strikes and demonstrations, counted 10,000.

These figures mark a mobilization higher than that of the previous day of CGT action, October 27, but a decline compared to that of October 18, when the ministry had counted 107,000 demonstrators throughout the country and the CGT 300,000.

Very disrupted transport in Ile-de-France

On the other hand, transport users in Ile-de-France had to deal with a very disturbed situation.

Even if chaos was avoided in the morning in Ile-de-France, where many employees had obviously followed the recommendations to telecommute.

Others chose walking, biking, driving, or a day off.

Difficulties were still present at the start of the evening.

“I had understood that line 3 had to work in the afternoon.

I must have looked badly.

I'm going to walk, ”said, resigned, Sophie Gauthier, an executive met rue Réaumur, in the center of Paris, who still had to take a train from Saint-Lazare station, four stations away.

Five lines were closed (2, 8, 10, 11 and 12), the others only running at peak times, with a severely degraded service.

All the unions (CGT, FO, Unsa, Solidaires) of the RATP had long called for mobilization to demand wage increases and improved working conditions.
