About 'Information I', which will be added to the subject of the common university entrance exam from 2025, it turned out that there are nearly 800 teachers nationwide who are teaching in special cases without a license at public high schools.

Each local government aims to improve the situation by reviewing the placement of specialized teachers.

In May, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology conducted a survey of boards of education in prefectures and ordinance-designated cities nationwide, and found that high school teachers who do not have information licenses and teach with temporary licenses or special cases are 49 municipalities. It turned out that there were 796 people in total.

The number of teachers has decreased by 437 since the last survey two years ago.

By municipality,

▽Nagano Prefecture has the most with 76 people,

▽Tochigi Prefecture has 68 people,

▽Fukushima Prefecture has 45 people, and

▽Ibaraki Prefecture has 40 people.

49 local governments have submitted improvement plans to the national government, such as reviewing the allocation of teachers with information licenses and having licensed teachers teach at multiple schools. The number of teachers who will teach with licenses is expected to reach 80, or 10% of the current number, by the next fiscal year, and will drop to zero the year after next.

In light of the fact that "Information I" will be included in the standardized university entrance exam from 2025, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology will support the steady implementation of improvement plans by local governments.
