On a journey with the lives of local and Gulf artistic icons, Emirati journalist Jamal Matar accompanies viewers of “Sama Dubai” channel, through his new program “A Biography”, to restore with the owners of those nostalgic stories, some elements of the common human and cultural memory of the glorious Gulf region with its legacy and the creativity of its pioneers .

At the beginning of his dialogue with "Emirates Today", Matar stopped at the nature of the "Biography" program, which hosted in its first episode the Kuwaiti artist Saad Al-Faraj, highlighting the privacy of his experience and the most important milestones in his long career, in which he was considered one of the pioneers of Kuwaiti and Gulf theater, He added: “When the media succeeds in presenting such pure and noble models, it undoubtedly contributes to increasing the aesthetic values ​​in society, especially in light of the poor quality of some of the programs shown on Arab satellite channels, which succeed day after day in perpetuating a kind of (intellectual coma). ».

Matar stressed that it is necessary for the Emirati media to present models capable of creating creative programs within the production capabilities currently available, considering that the audience's reactions to the first episode of "A Biography" confirm his point of view.

He explained that "the episodes of the new program, over the course of its first season, will present a group of Emirati and Gulf artistic and cultural names, such as Dr. Rafia Ghobash, writer Nasser Al Dhaheri, artist Ibrahim Juma, through artist Mustafa Ahmed, who is considered one of the symbols of the Kuwaiti song, to poet Karim Al Iraqi. Matar continued: “Six episodes of the program were filmed in Kuwait, and seven in the Emirates, at a time when preparations for the second season are currently underway, and waiting for the audience’s reactions, which seemed generally promising, although it is too early to talk about this aspect, but I am very happy. With the positive echoes that were achieved for the first episode, its high TV follow-up rates and a remarkable turnout on social media platforms and the accounts of the Dubai Digital Media Corporation,” pointing to his enthusiasm for this encouraging launch, which has become evidence of the suitability of this selected type of programs with the audience’s taste.

On the extent of his satisfaction with the production image in which he presented a "biography", he stated that "if better conditions are available in the future, it is expected that new seasons will be presented, the horizons of which will be expanded to include dozens of Arab creative names and symbols."

Journalist Jamal Matar said: "The new program (biography) is the result of the work of an integrated team, through which all its people combined efforts to present purposeful content and a sophisticated and refined television format, contrasting with classic templates and tinctures of documentaries," praising the efforts of the program's directors, Abdullah Al-Sarkal and Youssef Sader, who took turns directing TV episodes between Dubai and Kuwait, while the work team included Ali Al-Moussawi and Muhammad Al-Saleem.

After his experience in theatrical writing and directing, Matar is currently working on writing a novel, preferring not to go into its details until the completion of its final formulation, to put it on the scene.
