Two flocks of sheep were attacked last week in Anglès and Cayrel (Tarn) in the south of the Department, which resulted in the death of 15 ewes and lambs and a dozen wounded among the animals.

For these two attacks, the wolf is suspected.

Moreover, the attacks of the predator have multiplied since last winter, reports

An imminent “wolf committee”

One of the two flocks targeted had lost a ewe in an attack on July 17.

Contacted by the two breeders, the French Office for Biodiversity intervened and its agents seem to confirm that it would be two wolf attacks.

The Departmental Directorate of Territories (DDT) could thus grant compensation to the two farms.

At the same time, the next "wolf committee" is to be held in the prefecture on Thursday.

Faced with the increase in the number of attacks attributable to the wolf, the areas where preventive actions are necessary had been extended to 32 municipalities last spring.

In total, there would be, at the present time, three wolves in the Department.
