On the night of October 25 to 26, a woman was the victim of an attempted rape in the middle of the street in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine).

The facts took place on rue de Vincennes, north of the city center, when the 30-year-old victim was returning to his home after an evening in a bar.

During a leave granted in 2005, he had raped his cousin.

The repeat offender had been sentenced to fifteen years in prison.

He had sexually assaulted a prison visitor in 2018. He was released in August at the end of his sentence. 

This man presents himself as a native of Congo and was in an irregular situation in France where he was subject to an obligation to leave the territory (OQTF).

According to the prosecutor, the suspect will be tried on December 8 before the Rennes criminal court for repeated sexual assault.
