This system does not work alone, but rather identifies with the security institutions and their repressive actions, including imprisonment, arrest, and complete absence from the scene, which raises questions about the overthrow of symbols and institutions, and who are they targeting?

And what results did it lead to?

What is its impact on the reality of living?

Regarding attempts to distort and overthrow religious symbols, Kuwaiti thinker, preacher and media figure Muhammad Al-Awadi believes that there are several means used in this task, especially in the media, cinematic works and ideological programs, in addition to electronic flies.

Cinema and drama always present in its works a bad image of the cleric and the committed person, as part of a well-thought-out strategy with its goals, according to Al-Awadi, who is the CEO of the Rawaskh Center for Contemporary Intellectual Issues.

Film critic Farouk Abdel Aziz confirms - in his intervention in an episode (2/11/2022) of the "Mawazine" program - that most Arab and Egyptian films present a stereotypical image of the cleric, and present him in a comic and offensive manner, in his movements and in his language, and was supposed to deal With him as a human being in the first place.

The Kuwaiti preacher considers electronic flies to be one of the most dangerous means used in distorting the image of Islamic and advocacy symbols, and they are legions and funded kitchens that carry out a deliberate work.

And behind the electronic flies and the dramatic and cinematic works are two sides: political tyranny, that is, certain regimes, ideological and exclusionary currents and people allied with those regimes, either a direct alliance or a consensus of interest.

Al-Awadi believes that campaigns targeting religious symbols have increased after the Arab Spring, and are even targeting peoples through attempts to involve them in rivalries.

polishing tyrants

As for the parties that use religious discourse in the process of dropping religious symbols, the Kuwaiti preacher says that they are polishing the bloody tyrant that kills people, and at the same time behaving in a rude and bad manner with the preachers, and he called them “the sheikhs of Timur Linq,” the fierce Mughal leader who was fond of fighting Muslims. .

Al-Awadi is one of the preachers who have been targeted by electronic flies, as previous videos of him were used in an attempt to distort his image, including a video in which they accused him of calling for the heads of rulers to fly after the Arab Spring, a video that reveals that it dates back to December 14, 2016. When he gave a speech in front of the Russian embassy in Kuwait, when Syrian villages were bombed by the Russians and militias.

The guest of the “Mawazine” program was also accused of calling for sympathy with homosexuals, after he posted on his Twitter account a discussion panel during the days of the health ban under the title “Do not oppress homosexuals”, as a publication spread widely and claiming that the General Union of Muslim Scholars appointed Sheikh Al-Awadi as General Counsel. LGBT affairs.

The Kuwaiti preacher asserts that that publication was a forgery, and the General Union of Muslim Scholars denied it, noting that the goal behind the discussion panel was to seek to attract the attention of homosexuals, communicate with them and direct them to treatment.

Regarding the goal of the process of dropping religious symbols, Al-Awadi explains that the parties that work to bring down religious symbols seek to get rid of the discourse that affects people, and preachers in the Islamic world have been killed, imprisoned and kidnapped, as well as mutilated because of that.
