The Ethiopian government and the Tigray rebels have agreed on a cessation of hostilities in this region of northern Ethiopia, which has been in conflict for two years.

Delegations from the Ethiopian federal government and the rebels had been meeting under the aegis of the AU since October 25 in Pretoria.
