Takeoff is the latest hip-hop artist to be shot in a shooting recently.

Last month, Half Ounce, real name Latauriisha O'Brien, was killed by a gun in Los Angeles, weeks after PnB Rock was killed during a robbery.

In 2021, the hip-hop world mourned the stabbing death of Drakeo the Ruler, and that of Young Dolph, who was shot and killed while buying cookies in Memphis.

Pop Smoke died in 2020 during a robbery at his Hollywood Hills property.

King Von was shot in a shootout that same year in Atlanta.

In 2019, Nipsey Hussle was murdered outside his Los Angeles store.

XXXTentacion meanwhile was shot in 2018 while walking out of a Florida store.
